“I have done battle every single day of my life.” 英國前首相柴契爾夫人 Margaret Thatcher 可謂女中豪傑，Meryl Streep 為了演好這個舉世皆知的名人，到英國居住一段時間，還到英國國會旁聽、觀察首相、議員的一舉一動，並親自拜訪柴契爾夫人幼年時居住的Grantham, Lincolnshire.

為求形象的神似，梅莉史翠普的耗時費工的化妝，以及為了口音的相似所作的努力，再再都是考驗。

Meryl Streep 是我很喜歡的演員，已經成為戲精的她，再度以精湛的演技以這部電影贏得2011 年金球獎戲劇類的影后 (Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama)，以及2012 年奧斯卡的最佳女主角獎 (Actress In a Leading Role)，可以說是實至名歸。
